Why at all the daughter of Jephthah request her father, "... let me alone two months, that i may go and wander on the mountains, and bewail my virginity, i and my companions." (Judg 11:37)?

Bewailing virginity..!
'Virginity' as well as 'celibacy' is extolled in religions! Why at all the religions do so, when it is not so originally? The very first chapter of the first book of the Bible says: "God created man in his own image... male and female he created them." (Gen 1:27) "It is not good that the man should be alone..." (2:18).
